Using an electrostatic sprayer to disinfect is a way of efficiently killing germs. Electrostatic sprayers work by charging the liquid disinfectant as it passes through the sprayer nozzle. This generates charged droplets that repel one another and actively seek out surfaces, which they stick to and even wrap around to coat all sides.
Positively Attracted
An electrostatic sprayer can be engineered to produce either positively or negatively charged particles. Most electrostatic sprayers generate positively charged particles, because most surfaces are negatively charged. The theory is that the positively charged particles will stick to most surfaces that are negatively charged. (As a side note, the earth’s surface is negatively charged.) Whether an electrostatic sprayer is designed to generate positive or negative particles, these particles will repel each other and have a better chance to stick to something else.
When spraying to disinfect, our powerful sprayers reach every nook and crevice of your space, truly disinfecting where no one can reach. And that’s not all. Our solution is Aseptic Plus,+ an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant that eliminates viruses, bacteria, mold and mildew, allergens and odors (smoke, pet urine, cooking odors and more).
What Is A Hospital-Grade Disinfectant?
For a disinfectant to be labeled as hospital-grade— the highest level of disinfection—it must pass EPA accredited laboratory tests to effectively kill Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella choleraesuis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria hides under biofilms and is difficult to eliminate. Aseptic Plus+ safely kills these and almost 30 additional pathogens.
With Aseptic Plus,+ the kill time for bacteria is 10 minutes and the kill time for viruses is five minutes at 99.999%. If you missed our kill log tip last week, read here.
And with electrostatic spraying there’s no wiping down surfaces after the spray. Just spray and walk away. The mist is so fine, it dries quickly and is safe for all surfaces including sensitive electronic equipment.
Safety First
Electrostatic disinfection disinfects, or kills, unwanted pathogens from every targeted surface, but doesn’t protect those surfaces from becoming infected again. Products currently on the market that claim to create a barrier to germs do not work as claimed long-term and do not fit our company’s mission of being safe for pets, plants, people and the environment.
However, our solution can be used daily as a cleaner, sanitizer and disinfectant. At a solution of 1:9 (1 part Aseptic Plus, + and 9 parts tap water) you can wash your cutting board to sanitize it with no rinse required!
The chemical make-up of Aseptic Plus+ is such that no alarming safety warnings and precautions are needed. It is a category 4 (lowest level) on the EPA toxicity guide. Read more here. And contains no ozone harming volatile compounds (VOCs). Aseptic Plus+ breaks down to a simple salt and produces no harmful by-products, no trihalomethanes (THMs) or haloacetic acids (HAAs).
