Hotels

Hotels introduce germs to guests that they wouldn’t have come into contact with otherwise. Unfortunately, your hotel is no different with the endless coming and going of guests from all over the country and world. After a long day traveling, guests just want to relax without worrying about bacteria and viruses. Unless your hotel is in the minority, when a guest walks into their room, defenses should be up from these invisible microbes that can be a serious threat to their wellbeing. Findings presented by Scientific American at the American Society for Microbiology’s general meeting showed that approximately 81 percent of hotel room surfaces sampled held at least some fecal bacteria. While the TV remote controls were found to be the most bacteria laden, the light switch, carpet and telephone among others also had high levels of germs.

Although your cleaning crews go into each room and clean between guest stays, the unfortunate truth is that they are not always cleaning properly, and most are not sanitizing or disinfecting surfaces at all. Many items in their cleaning cart, like sponges, mops and microfiber cloths, have high levels of bacteria. When those sponges, mops and microfiber cloths, are being used with the best of intentions, they are just carrying bacteria and viruses from room to room and surface to surface.

Risks of infectious disease when staying at a hotel have only heightened since March of 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the United States. A study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) examined the hotel rooms of two coronavirus patients who were quarantined, and found genetic material from the virus on the light switch, faucet handles, sheets and pillows after 24 hours. Fortunately, many hotel chains have rightly reconstructed their cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting practices, but it’s still important to understand the cleaning protocols for your hotel. Aseptic Health can help you with training your cleaning crews to ensure both your personnel and hotel rooms are Certified Clinically Clean®.

Aseptic Health’s new SoRite formula can help limit exposure to germs at your hotel by providing high kill-logs at faster kill times for hotel guests. For example, SoRite All-In-One has been proven to kill human coronavirus in :15 seconds at a 99.999% (5-log) kill rate. The closest competitor provides a kill rate of the human coronavirus at :60 seconds. Besides killing 4X faster than the next best competition, SoRite is extremely efficacious as can be seen in the kill logs. The product is proven to kill a wide array of bacteria, viruses and fungi!

Not only is SoRite effective at protecting guest of hotels from nasty germs, the product has been categorized as a Category IV on the EPA’s Toxicity Scale for Skin Irritation, Inhalation and Ingestion.
